Workplace stress is real, and companies can no longer ignore its impact on people. At KGC, Wellness Month was more than an event. It was a step toward creating a culture that supports mental and physical well-being across every location and department.
The modern workplace is fast, demanding, and always on. Long hours, pressure to meet targets, and limited time to pause can slowly impact mental health. What often gets overlooked is that people don’t burn out overnight. It happens silently, over time, when care is missing.
As conversations around workplace wellness grow, companies can no longer simply speak about it. Action is what matters, and that’s where culture starts to shift.
Why Mental Wellness Can’t Be an Afterthought
Today, mental health is as important as skillsets and KPIs. Employees need space to breathe, reset, and feel supported—not just as professionals but as people. Companies that create these spaces are not just reducing attrition or boosting productivity; they’re building trust.
What KGC Did Differently
To walk the talk, KGC launched a dedicated Wellness Month from April 14 to May 11. Initiated by Kanchan Kale, Director of Communications, it aimed to incorporate mindfulness, movement, and team energy into the everyday work routine. Each location adapted the initiative based on space and shift patterns.
Plethora of Wellness Activities
The team participated in a range of wellness activities, including Fitness Fridays, which featured Surya Namaskar, wall sits, squat challenges, and plank challenges. They also included push-ups, skipping, and breathing routines to energize our workdays. Additionally, the team enjoyed sessions of meditation, brisk walking, and warm-ups to promote overall well-being.
Group Engagements That Brought Teams Together
A 12-team cricket tournament saw employees practicing before and after work. An all-company Mind and Body session by Mind and Mat helped employees reduce stress and regain mental clarity.
The Impact
Beyond exercises and events, the real shift was in energy, connection, and a shared culture of care. At KGC, wellness is not a tick box. It’s becoming part of how we work.
